It is departure day. After some rather lackluster training, we are packed and ready to go. The Porto weather forecast shows decreasing temperatures and rain next week, which will nicely answer the question as to whether or not packing rain gear is a waste of space. To get into the Camino spirit, we are booked in economy class, just a few rows in front of the rear restrooms. Best to habituate ourselves early.
We can’t help reflecting on the amazing experiences we had and the friends that we made on our first Caminos. The Portuguese Way should be amazing. I am especially looking forward to fewer blisters. Hope springs eternal. Ultreia!

I am so happy for you both as you set off on your second Camino! I will follow your posts and am sure each one will add joy to my day. I look forward to seeing you and hearing about it when next we are together ❤️❤️

have a good start and a great time on the camino! So I read you are happy about the forecasted rain as it will confirm your good packing list?! 😏
May you meet wonderful people again, have no blisters and …a few hours of rain only – enough to justify the gear…,
buen camino
